I studied in Seattle, at Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, graduating in 2000. This three-year master's program was rated one of the top programs in the country. My academic work involved a thorough study of Oriental medical theory and practice, and included many classes in Western medicine. I completed an intensive two-year internship with hundreds of patient visits at a wide variety of medical settings. I continue to stay active in my training by attending continuing education opportunities. I have been treating clients in the Wenatchee Valley for twenty years.
Patients visiting Harmony Acupuncture and Sound Healing may expect to be treated with one or more of the following elements:
At Harmony Acupuncture & Sound Healing I see a variety of muscular and structural imbalances that cause pain or stiffness. From my perspective, any pain or stiffness that a client reports, is most often the energy, Qi (chee) gets stuck. The acupuncture needles send a message to the body to get that energy moving through an area with pain, so that fresh blood and fluids can enter that area to that body an start the healing process.
The answer is no. Acupuncture works on the premise that balancing the energy of the body helps to create and maintain health. Most of the time individuals are ill due to an energetic imbalance, however, many people seek acupuncture simply to strengthen their bodies to keep them from becoming ill. Regular or seasonal acupuncture treatments could be looked upon as changing your car's oil every 5,000 miles or twice a year. Many people come in for regular or seasonal "tune ups," to de-stress or get recharged. Acupuncture can help you adapt to seasonal or climatic changes. It helps to integrate the mind/body/spirit so that all systems are working cohesively towards optimum health
Sound therapy has the added advantage of influencing the total body resonance to re-establish healing rhythms. You may consider that each part of the physical body, down to the sub-atomic level has its own frequency and therefore its own particular sound.
Sound therapy is exceptionally helpful in treating stress and emotions.
Precision calibrated tuning forks can be applied to specific acupuncture and acupressure points that access the body's Meridians of energy. Listening to and applying the forks to the body and above it stimulate and balance the body's subtle energies to promote healing and inner balance/harmony.
Sound therapy enhances physiological functioning through helping energy harmonize in the acupuncture channels and organ systems of the human body. Even though I have a limited background in music theory, I find I am drawn to using sound healing tools for my clients.
